Mostyn Moreno Foundation Expands Christmas Program to Include Buna ISD and Kirbyville CISD Special Needs Students

Houston, TX — Houston’s Mostyn Moreno Foundation announced that it will once again expand its Christmas Lights holiday giving program to serve special needs students at the Buna ISD and Kirbyville CISD.

The Mostyn Moreno Foundation’s Christmas Lights program organizes and funds a unique educational experience for special education students across Texas. This year, over 900 students in 13 public school districts from Galveston, Southeast Texas and East Texas will be taken on a special educational field trip where students will use math, decision-making, social skills and practice important life skills with guidance from their teachers to purchase their own holiday gifts with funds provided by the foundation. Afterwards, the foundation will then treat the students, teachers, and family members to a special lunch.

“The Christmas Lights Program is a great partnership between the Mostyn Moreno Foundation and our neighborhood public schools,” said foundation director Monte Osburn. “We offer such a unique experience for these special children to learn, practice essential skills, and obtain great gifts.”

“We are so fortunate to be able to brighten the holiday season of such wonderful children,” said Mostyn Moreno Foundation co-founder Steve Mostyn. “These kids and their families deserve to have happy Christmas holidays, and we hope the Christmas Lights Program helps put smiles on their faces.”
